Doctor talking to woman about breast screen results

Your breast screening results

  1. Your x-ray (mammogram) images will be reviewed independently by at least two specially trained doctors.
  2. You will receive the results of your breast screen in writing in about two weeks.
  3. With your permission, the results will also be sent to your doctor.
  4. If there is something on your breast screen that needs further investigation, you will be asked to attend an assessment clinic for further tests. Around 90% of women called back for further tests do not have breast cancer.1478 Click here for more information about further tests.
